Writing

I’ve been a writer my whole life. The jobs have changed, the sectors have varied, the audiences have shifted — but underneath it all, it’s always been the same: a deep and slightly obsessive love of getting the words and story right. Find the right words, earn the reader’s trust and make every sentence worth their time. That’s true whether you’re writing a Viking historical novel or corporate communications.

Here’s some of that work.

Life: Living in Fulfillment Every Day Marissa Campbell & Annemarie Greenwood

An award-winning self-help title about living with intention, purpose and passion. Co-authored with Annemarie Greenwood, Life asked readers to examine what it actually means to show up fully in their own lives — and gave them the tools to do it.

Hot in Aruba Marissa Campbell

A contemporary romance about friendship, betrayal and second chances, set against the sun-soaked backdrop of Aruba. For anyone who has ever needed a change of scenery to figure out what they actually want.

Avelynn Marissa Campbell | St. Martin’s Press

“Marissa Campbell brings a long-forgotten era splendidly to life in this adventurous and passionate debut.” — Susanna Kearsley, New York Times bestselling author

869 AD. A Saxon noblewoman. A Viking warrior. A world on the edge of war. Avelynn is a historical fiction debut about faith, independence and the cost of defying the world you were born into — published internationally by St. Martin’s Press.

Avelynn: The Edge of Faith Marissa Campbell

The second book in the Avelynn series. Forced into exile and charged with treason, Avelynn must navigate betrayal, magic and the politics of ninth-century Wales to find her way back to everything she loves.

Published Work

Beyond the books, I’ve written for local magazines and newspapers and contributed a bi-monthly column to the Brooklin Town Crier.

The Globe and Mail reviewed Avelynn on publication — you can read it here.
